Various suggestions

Hi there!

Iíve noticed some cases where demand seems rather low compared to real-world traffic.

- Historic and cultural ties should be considered for direct demand estimates. For example, demand from MAD to Central and South America should be higher (PTY, SCL, PUJ...), same from CDG to African destinations (LOS, ABJ, DKR...), LHR to South Africa or India...

- Demand to/from MIA seems low overall. I think that is due to its low population of 331K, you should consider the metro area for population data: Same for BOS, which doesnít even appear as a tier-1 airport, its metro area population is 4.8M:

-Caribbean islands are overlooked as some of the most touristic spots in the world.

Thanks for the suggestions!

For ties, they should have higher mutual relationship so the demand is higher. It's a matrix i have to fill up, the initial data i have is only drawn from economic ties, but I can easily fill in more (or if anyone want to help, it's in) . You can see i only fill in the bare minimum for hostile relationship(north Korea, Russia, Iran, Iraq etc)

Also yes to Miami and Boston and in general cities in North America. The way i generate the population is to read a file from internet for all the cities and towns (should have already taken metro area into consideration) and then for each airport scan the cities/town in range and compute the population coverage.

However the data file i found seem to have incorrect (less pop) for some US area. If you "View Airport" on boston/Miami and look at the cities and towns around. Are they not accurate?

For Carribean islands, would you mind to add a quick thread in this board, for like top 5 to add? I will get to them soon (as that's the easiest fix)

Many thanks for your help and interest again!

Iíve just added on the file you posted Spanish and Portuguese cultural connections, as well as some British Commonwealth connections. I will add more soon.

Regarding the MIA/BOS issue, the map shows the area around correctly, the population data is the only problem I think.

For the Caribbean, I think you should start by increasing demand to/from PUJ, MBJ, SXM, AUA, CUR, GCM, CUN, STX, and BGI off the top of my head.
