For some reason, adding business / first class seats to a route can drop the economy load factor significantly. Seen it a few times, just happened again on a PDX-ORD route. Had been economy only on my B739 averaging about 90% capacity. Added some business / first class seats to try and optimize capacity, and the economy load factor tanked.
Can't decide if it's intentional (economy passengers get turned off walking past the fancy seats?) or an odd bug. If it is intentional, I do suppose I enjoy flying JetBlue for that reason!
