Just to be sure, there ISN'T a increased demand for biz/FC, just a % of the existing demand now wants a lounge, right?

By design there is increased demand for business and first class  :D

The newly increased demand all have some varying level of lounge requirement, that is, if you do not provide any lounges, they are very unlikely to travel. This new demand is actually quite big (+150% of existing demand) and would only be generated between 2 major (scale 4+) airports.

The existing business/first class demand have no lounge requirement, however having a lounge will still give u some edge even to this existing group of passengers.

Therefore if you do not build any lounge u will probably not see any increase in demand, nor losing any - except that if your competitor builds lounge, then it might steal away some of your existing passenger base.

I still worry that since you can only operate a lounge if you are in the top 3 at that airport (not just top 3 base) it might be possible to game the system a bit, dumping capacity and preventing a competitor from opening a lounge. Time will tell

That sounds like a legit strategy. Though it's an uphill battle and having a base is way easier to secure slots

In other news I'd like to announce that Dairy Air has bought all the stock in Air Vancouver - YVR and will be modernizing their operations shortly!  ;)

Did I miss anything? How can you buy stock in this game???

I love my lounges!

But I don't wanna say that too loud or else they'll attract the attention of the nerf wand

I don't know if it is a coincedence, but i fly mainly in airports with no lounges (yet) and i experience a huge drop in first/business pax.

I'm happy to see the lounges are back up and running! My lounges are all running deficits though. Is this the same for anyone else? How can we increase income for the lounges? I've increased the number of business and first class passengers to/from the airports with lounges, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the profit of the lounge. Also, the lounges are listed as expenses on each route. Why is that?

Thank you for all the work you're putting into this game!  ;D

Running deficit? Welcome to running a real airline!  8)

Here is how it works ...

1. B/F passengers on a flight with a lounge will have $100 each removed from the flight revenue for their lounge access, this should be able to be recouped as lounge adjacent routes can have a small increase in B/F prices.

2. All of this then shows up as Lounge Income in the office screen

3. All B/F lounge visitors also incur a $50 fee to the lounge owner for supplies

4. Plus the lounge upkeep costs

All this together in the best of situations should come out close to even, kinda like the real world. But to fully answer your question .. yes
I'm running close to a 400k a week loss on mine from the balance sheet .. but several routes I was able to increase my pricing slightly and make it close to a net 0

I have a couple of lounges running a profit, but most are money losing. Largest profit is $200k - hardly a major income item. Anyone really raking it in?

Think the biggest benefits world be increased business and first class passengers as well as higher ticket prices. Must lounges are probably running in deficit

Yep, my intercontinental routes are way more steady than they were pre lounges.
