that used to be a hot topic like around 2000, which a lot of IT companies outsource their coding to India/China or places with cheaper labor. Though it might sometimes be counter-productive to do so: https://www.quora.com/Is-outsourcing-to-India-useless-Is-it-counter-productive-Have-american-companies-stopped-outsourcing-to-India-Is-there-any-difference-between-outsouring-to-small-companies-vs-outsourcing-to-bigger-firms

Not saying that outsourcing is going to be gone completely, but there are reasons that IT companies in the North America expanding their development teams in the US and Canada like all the major companies: Amazon, Google, Facebook etc

So for IT, it's not the same like some manufacturing jobs which really could be moved to another country for good. Software development requires good education, and highly educated workforce could be relatively cheaper in some countries, but not by a lot when all factors are accounted for.

im studying java now. but do you have any experience with ruby on rails? it seems amazing if it does what some sources have said it will. well, ill stick with java for now. (by the way my dad had been under the impression that there was a lot of competition from places like India with people working for dirt cheap. is that not the case?

ah sorry I was slacking off and didn't check forums

Welcome to the coding world!

Coders make good money kekeke

I would say u can learn from online resources. I would suggest perhaps Java to start as it's the most popular and has most online resource available.

If you do decide to become a programmer then u can consider Computer Science in college. It makes decent salary and usually has reasonable work hours. ;)

this is not directly related to the game, but.. i was wondering if i could realistically learn coding with an online course. i am 14,and have just finished 8th grade, which is as high as boys from my mennonite church usually go. i have pretty much another school year with nothing to do, and i thought that coding might be a good skill to have. if so, what is a good course? how expensive? or is it as i suspect, and it is something that college kids struggle with, impossible for me?
