Country relationship system
« on: November 17, 2019, 03:20:13 pm »
In draft stage now, but in V2 I envision that airlines would need to fight for certain status in a country:

1. National Airline
2. Partnered Airline
3. Established Airline
4. Approved Airline

A foreign airline will like go in the stage of 4 -> 3 -> 2

While a domestic airline will be 2 -> 1

My idea is to promote more strategic game play

The draft is here, but is still in very initial stages, I will probably create multiple issues to track it:

Hey, I'm Sharing My First Ever Post on this Platform for the Very First Time.
First of all, As usual I must say Thanks to you for Making Such a Wonderful Game for us.. Especially for me.
Secondly, As i think ( Not Sure About Others ).. There Should be a Little Bit of More Realism in this Game which is " REAL TIME ". Ofcourse, I Understand it Struggles alot to Make your Airline Profitable, Earn Money & Open Different Routes, but the Current Game time is way more Faster.

for the Version 2 Update, i'm Gonna say YES to your Idea, that's the Realism we want in this Game. Let me Share my Suggestions.
* For an Airline, No matter if it's a National Airline or a Private Airline.. There Should be Some LIMIT of Opening Hubs in Different Countries.
* If it's a National Airline than it can Open many Hubs as they Can but only inside the Country. For a Hub outside the Country, There Should be a Limit of Opening only 1 Hub outside the Country. For Example, My Airline is in Asia.. If i want to Open another Hub Outside the Country, I can only get access to 1 International Hub ( outside the Country's Continent ) Inside in Europe / United States / Africa. Like Qantas is First using Dubai Hub to Operate Flights to US / UK / Africa.

Thanks @ Meer!

Yes, there will be some sort of soft limit but unlike the hard limit now.

I don't really have all the details yet, but setting up hubs will be increasingly harder if you already have hubs

As for having the game real time it would be pretty hard, as most of the simulation is based on the weekly model. That would be a very major rewrite and might lose some realism in the simulation as it literally should take airlines years in order to recover the cost of a plain, so if we do not use a virtual time that passes faster then either the margin would need to be unreasonably high or the players would have to play it for years in order to make even on any investments :)

What about regional fights?
